"That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:4-5

Menu Plan Sunday

There's something about blogging that holds one accountable, isn't there?  Whenever I post on here, I recall the verse that says "we who teach will be judged more strictly." (James 3:1 NIV) Yikes.  Talk about accountability!  Being that my reason for even being on this blog is to fulfill my calling in Titus 2 to teach women to be keepers at home, I'd say that includes me in that verse.  Anyway, whenever I post something I be sure that I am practicing what I preach.

So now...here's something for you to keep me accountable on!  I mentioned in a previous post that I put a lot of time into making sure my husband is eating healthy, but I tend to neglect myself.  I'm going to work on changing that!  It is especially important because I'm a nursing mama, so taking care of myself is actually taking care of little Adam.  The Lord really got a hold of me last night.  The baby woke up and wanted to nurse, and to my dismay he couldn't get any milk.  The poor little guy sucked and fussed for maybe 20 or 30 minutes, then finally gave up and went to sleep.  I was really upset, and tossed and turned in bed for a few hours.  I prayed and talked with my hubby, and we agreed that I've got to stay more hydrated and put more effort into nutrition and vitamins. (Fortunately Adam's been getting milk out of me all day, but STILL--that was a wake up call for me!)  So today, I've been drinking more water.  When I made my husband's fresh carrot juice, I doubled it and made some for myself.  Right now I'm drinking Mother's Milk herbal tea.  Please hold me accountable on this...I will make sure I am checking in and posting how I am doing on my diet.  And if you have any suggestions for keeping the milk supply up, please share!

Okay, that said...on to this week's menu plan!

Sun--Turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, yams, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie
Mon--Turkey pot pies
Tues--Potato Chowder, bread, salad
Wed--Burritos made with homemade refried beans
Thurs--BBQ chicken, baked potatoes, corn
Fri--Shepherd's pie, cornbread (taking dinner to a friend who is on bedrest, so this will be a triple batch!)
Sat--Burgers, french fries, milkshakes

Again, I'll reiterate that my hubby and older son are usually not here on Mon/Wed this month due to drivers ed, and Tuesdays always have to be a crock pot meal because it is my day that I'm out of the house (horseback riding and gymnastics for daughters).

Enjoy cooking this week!

"Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good and not evil all the days of her life."~Proverbs 31:10-12

  1. Your menu sounds yummy! I love that you posted how we who teach some are held going to be held totally accountable! I am constantly striving to do all the things I talk about. I'm not ever going to be perfect all the time, but I like to think I'm doing the very best I can all the time! I think that if I being honest with myself in that then I am certainly being honest to the Lord. I always try to think that maybe some lady somewhere will do like I did...see a post of mine or yours and then decide that she wants to dig a little further...if I can do just that one thing then I think I have done a good job. :) You're doing a great job of that over here! I am really liking all your posts! So nice to meet you! ;D--Sara
